For anchorages outside of ports, the concession is issued by individual municipalities, while for anchorages within ports, the concession is issued by individual port authorities. In these anchorages, concessionaires can set up anchoring devices and charge for mooring. In areas where no concession has been issued, setting up anchoring devices and charging for mooring is prohibited.

And of course, in practice, things are not always as they should be. This is why Croatia has taken the first step towards regulating the situation. On the territory of the Port Captaincy, on August 25th, they started removing illegally placed anchorages. A total of 138 buoys were removed from 17 illegally placed anchorages.

The devices were removed from the following bays (bay – number of illegally placed buoys):

Bay Sičenica, Sevid – 8 buoys

Bay Luke, Povlja, island Brač – 8 buoys

Mestna Luka, Split – 7 buoys

Bay Kašuni, Split – 5 buoys

Bay Spinut, Split – 2 buoys

Bay Porat, island Biševo – 6 buoys

Island Budikovac Veli, Vis – 12 buoys

Bay Stari Rukavac, island Vis – 11 buoys

Bay Tepluš, island Vis – 6 buoys

Bay Vela Travna, island Vis – 6 buoys

Bay Borče, island Hvar – 21 buoys

Bay Milna, island Hvar – 7 buoys

Bay Zarače, island Hvar – 7 buoys

Bay Lovišće, island Šćedro – 4 buoys

Bay Lovišće, island Šćedro – 6 buoys

Bay Vela Garška, island Hvar – 12 buoys

Bay Pribinja, island Hvar – 28 buoys

Photo: www.dalmacijadanas.hr

Source: eNavtika.si

After numerous complications with anchorages, the Croatian government has also decided to regulate the situation.
