The popular port of Sali on Dugi Otok has undergone renovation. A new breakwater has been built, and the eastern coast has been restored.
The renovation of the port of Sali began in 2021. The primary priority was to build the eastern breakwater to protect the port from eastern and southern winds. The total investment amounted to 12 million EUR, with most of the funds coming from EU funds, and 15% contributed by the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure.
The renovation of the port was successfully completed this year. A new breakwater, measuring 116 meters, was built, allowing boats to moor on both the inner and outer sides. Additionally, the coast from the popular Maritimo bar to the breakwater, covering a length of 150 meters, has been restored. The renovated section of the port and breakwater features electrical pedestals and water connections.
In the western part of the port, a new Tommy self-service store has also opened. It is significantly larger than the existing store in the eastern part and, naturally, better stocked. We visited it in August and were shocked by the prices, which were two or even three times higher than in other stores along the coast.
IMPORTANT
When entering the port, caution is advised, as the old lighthouse, which was previously located at Blud Point, has been moved to the head of the eastern breakwater and has different characteristics. Update your electronic maritime charts and mark it on nautical maps.
We have already captured aerial footage of the renovated port of Sali. You can view the photos and video at this link: Port of Sali.
