If we recently described the five most beautiful beaches in Central Dalmatia, including Zlatni Rat on Brač, which is widely considered the most famous beach in Croatia, and Stiniva on Vis, which was recently declared the most beautiful beach in Europe, today we present five lesser-known but equally stunning beaches from the Kvarner region and Northern Dalmatia.
1 Brseč, Kvarner
Not far from Brseč, a small medieval Istrian town perched on a high cliff offering a stunning view of the Kvarner Bay and its islands, lie some of the most beautiful beaches in the Kvarner Strait. We highlight Klančac Beach.
Hidden in a picturesque bay and sheltered by rocky cliffs, Klančac Beach is considered one of the most popular beaches on the Adriatic. It can only be accessed on foot, which is perfect for those who seek tranquility and prefer avoiding crowded places.
2 Sakarun, Dugi Otok
Another such beach is Sakarun, the most famous beach on Dugi Otok. To those unfamiliar with it, its photos could easily be mistaken for pictures of the Maldives or Mauritius. However, it is actually a southeast-facing beach located in the northern part of Croatia’s Dugi Otok.
Fine white sand and turquoise blue waters create a soothing balm for the soul and body, which is why some proclaim Sakarun as the most beautiful beach on the Adriatic.
3 Lubenica, Cres
Lubenica Beach is located below the hilltop village of the same name on the western side of Cres Island and is considered one of the most beautiful in the northern Adriatic. With its sapphire-blue sea and fine pebble shore, it is a true visual delight and a perfect place to escape civilization.
It can only be accessed by foot, taking nearly 45 minutes to reach, so it is usually uncrowded and mainly visited by those arriving by boat.
4 Koromačna, Cres
Koromačna Beach, on Cres Island, is located between high, completely bare cliffs in a beautiful pebble bay, next to a sheltered harbor (except from the bora wind). It can only be reached by boat.
Always bathed in sunlight and with crystal-clear waters, it is one of the most beautiful beaches on Cres Island.
5 Cape Kamenjak, Istria, Kvarner
This beach is located on the eastern side of the Istrian peninsula, south of the village of Premantura, within the 9.5 km long protected natural park of Kamenjak. Due to its clear waters, beautiful coves, and unique flat rocks, it is an excellent destination for sunbathing and swimming.
At the tip of the cape, there are cliffs and caves, a paradise for diving enthusiasts and sea explorers.
Visiting any of these beaches guarantees exceptional and unique experiences, even more so when enjoyed in good company from the deck of your chosen boat.
